I WON! WOOHOO!!!

Thank you SO MUCH, because it's thanks to your votes, I won!
I won the "Upcoming Sports, Athlete of the Year", but also the "Maestro of the year, woman"! This last categorie was for the feminine athlete who accumulated the most votes, all categories mixed up (Snowboard, Ski, Wakeboard, Skateboard, Upcoming Sports).

I was really surprise, but also very happy and proud to give kiteboarding a place in this gala! Thank you to my sponsors one more time, NORTH KITEBOARDING, GOOCH, DAKINE, XCEL, ZEAL OPTICS.

Here is a short video of "day 2" of the Triple S in which you can see me shortly... I'm the one with an helmet and an orange tank!

I had lots of fun in Cape Hatteras last week. The REAL KITEBOARDING park is so cool and the weather was so nice, no wetsuit needed in the laguna!
I've got lots of motivation watching the guys... Ruben, Alvaro, Aaron, Andre, Davey, etc.

No pictures because Mathieu wasn't allowed to take pictures... yeah, we were so disapointed.
I think it's because they had an exclusive agreement with an other photographer.
Anyway, the organizers were cool with us, Mathieu should be able to shoot next year and they told us to come back whenever we want to ride and shoot on their park!

SBC kiteboard (#24)

I have a 1 page interview in the current issue of SBC Kiteboard, #24.
It is an interview about how to get paid to kite and they interviewed 3 instructors from 3 differents organizations.

Hey guys!
Look what my mom found last month, in a library in my home town.
A kiteboarding book with a photo of me on the cover! I even didn't know!
It is a IKO instructional book published in 2004!
There is also 2 full page pictures of me inside the book!
I'm happy about it, but it would have been cool they told me. ;)

Regardez ce que ma mère à trouvée le mois dernier dans une librairie de ma ville natale.
Un livre de kiteboard avec une photo de moi sur la page couverture! Je ne savais même pas!
C'est un manuel d'apprentissage IKO publiée en 2004.
Il y a aussi 2 autres photos (pages complètes) de moi à l'intérieur du livre!
Je suis contente, mais ça aurait été cool de l'apprendre autrement que par hazard!

Le Soleil de la Floride

Last month I was in Florida, but this month I am doing the cover page of their french newspaper!!! ;D
Le Soleil de la Floride is a french newspaper distributed all around Florida and Québec which is published at 22 500 copies.

SBC Kiteboard (#23)

Colin Field, signed a funny article in the latest issue of SBC Kiteboard (#23).
It concerns the fact that some kite riders wear boardshorts over their wetsuit some don't.
If you think about it, wakeboarders do, surfers and windsurfers don't.
I personnaly don't wear them over a full suit but I do over a shorty (only for style) because I don't think shorties look good.
Anyway it was a pretty good subject for an article I think and he decided to illustrate his paper with a photo we did in a fisherman port last year, saying " Why stop at just a boardshorts? Daphnée Laliberté covers up too!". Look at the picture you will understand!

Colin Field a signé un article rigolo dans le dernier numéro de SBC Kiteboard (#23).
Il s'interroge sur le fait que certains riders de kite portent des shorts par dessus leur "wetsuit" tandis que certains ne le font pas.
Si vous y réfléchissez quelques instants, vous vous rendrez compte que les wakeboarders le font, mais que les windsurfers et les surfers ne le font pas.
Personnellement, je n'en porte pas par dessus un "wetsuit" long, mais j'en porte (pour le style) par dessus un court. Je ne trouve pas que les "wetsuits" courts mettent trop trop en valeur les gens!!!
De tout façon, j'ai trouvé intéressant le sujet de son article et il a décidé de l'illustrer par cette photo qu'on a fait l'été passée dans un port de pêcheur. Il dit: "Pourquoi s'arrêter qu'à un short? Daphnée Laliberté le fait aussi!". Regardez la photo, vous comprendrez!

Le website est très bien, mais la seule chose c'est que je ne lis pas trop l'italien!!!

Stance #28

Hey check out the last issue of Stance (#28).
I have a full instructional part in the DVD that comes with the magazine and some images in the part dedicated to the canadian step of the PKRA.
I personnaly think it is more funny that educational, but never mind!!

Si vous avez la chance, regardez le dernier numéro de Stance, #28.
J'ai toute une partie d'enseignement dans le DVD qui vient avec le magazine et j'ai aussi quelques images dans la partie dédiée à l'étape de la PKRA au Canada.
Je crois par contre que c'est plus rigolo qu'éducatif, mais bon...!!

I have 4 pages in the current issue of the SBC Kiteboard.
I'm glad it finally came out, because we had sick shots from our trip in Shippagan (NB), last summer.
If you want to have a look at it, it's in issue 22.
This is what the press release about this issue said: "The leading lady of North American kiteboarding is Daphnée Laliberté. SBC reports on what life is like for this IKO master instructor and PKRA competitor turned lifestyle rider."

Je suis contente que ce soit enfin publié, car on avait vraiment des super photos de notre trip à Shippagan (NB), l'été passé.

paradise St. Lucia

- I just received a touristic guide from St. Lucia by mail, in which I have a picture.
The name of the guide is "Paradise St. Lucia", it is published twice a year and distributed for free in differents hotels, and touristic places for sure.
The picture was taken over there last May with Dani Devaux.
It just teases me to get back there one more time!!

* Je viens tout juste de recevoir par la poste un guide touristique de St-Lucie, dans lequel j'ai une photos.
Le nom du guide c'est "Paradise St. Lucia", il est publié 2 fois par an et distribué gratuitement dans différents hôtels et endroits touristiques certainement.
La photo a été prise là-bas avec Dani Devaux en mai dernier.
De voir ça ce matin... ça me donne qu'envie d'y retourner!!

- During my trip in Brazil they were 2 TV shows broadcasts in which I was interviewed. Both were filmed during the PKRA World Cup in the Magdalen Islands, last September.
On, November 10th, TRIBAL (R.D.S. channel). To watch the show, go to http://www.rds.ca/tribal/video/, then watch the show broadcasted on 10/11/06.
* Durant mon voyage au Brésil, il y a eu 2 émissions de télévision dans lesquelles j’ai été interviewées. Les 2 émissions avaient été filmées durant l’étape de la Coupe du Monde PKRA qui a eu lieu aux Iles de la Madeleine en septembre dernier.

Magazine 8

Ce mois-ci, c'est au tour du Magazine 8 de présenter le kiteboard (et de me mettre à l'avant plan du même coup)!
Magazine 8, c'est un nouveau magazine québecois, le concept: 8 magazines en un.
Je n'ai pas encore eu la chance de feuilleter ce premier numéro, mais je trouve l'idée originale.
Il est parcontre assez difficile à trouver, semble-t-il qu'il serait disponbible dans les Jean Coutu et dans les dépanneurs. Pour ma part, ma mère l'a trouvée au Archambault.

This month, Magazine 8 devote 2 pages introducing kiteboarding (and myself at the same time)!Magazine 8, is a new french canadian magazine, the concept: 8 magazines in one.
I didn't have the chance to have a look at the magazine yet, but I think it is an original idea.
I had difficulty to find it... I've been going around and couldn't get one's hand on it, but it is supose to be available at Jean Coutu and most of the convenience stores.
For her part, my mom bought it at Archambault.

Vendredi, le 15 septembre prochain à 17h30, à RDS (le Réseau Des Sports), c'est la première de Tribal, une nouvelle émission qui tire le portrait d'athlètes québecois en sports extrêmes.
